For ages I would sit at my desk at work and wonder, ‘Isn't there more to life than this?' Work did not motivate me or inspire me. No manager wanted to take me on for a higher paying position because I never had the right skills they were looking for. I think it was then that I realised that I was not made for a 9-5 but I did not know how to make the transition.
I did attempt to start a business on the side of my 9-5 and because of that, I have experiences starting a business so I know the deal, but for a long time I was in a mindset that made me feel like I had to stay there….until I met these badass chicks!
I have always known that I have great, first hand knowledge and experience to share with others but trying to share it was always an obstacle for me. I started browsing online and I think the first online entrepreneur I encountered was Melyssa Grifffin. After that, I met so many other amazing women but the ones that keep me motivated the most are mentioned below.
I thought it would be a great idea to share this list because it's simply rude not to share!
(In no particular order)…
The reason I love Melyssa is because she is so transparent and down to earth. It's so hard to find successful people who are willing to personally dedicate time to you and help you succeed just like they have. I remember when I first started seeing her income reports; I used to think ‘yeh whatever' but after the change in my mindset I realised that what she's actually achieving is actually simple if you are willing to put in the hard work the same way she did. I started following her before she launched her first huge course and her free resources alone was enough to help any newbie get starting with a blog/online business.
I really dislike following people who say that they are always going to be there to answer any questions you may have but when you do finally go and ask your burning questions, they are no where to be found. I can assure you that Melyssa is not like that and she's actually very active in terms of responses.
As well as her blog which is full of plenty free in depth information, she also offers paid courses if you want to get clued up with your mailing list strategy, social media and more specifically Pinterest. Check it out!
Mariah is on fire!!!! This girl has so much energy and I love it. When I look at her, I think ‘That is how I want to feel when I finally establish my support business'. I bought one of her courses but to be honest, I am not sure whether I bought it because I really needed the content or because I really loved her. Either way, not a penny was wasted.
I look at her results and I don't think I have seen many people produce results like hers. When I sat down and thought about it (after watching many of her webinars, reading her content and reading others) is that she has three things that many people say they have but by Mariah's example, they clearly don't. The three things are;
REAL PASSION + THE KNOWLEDGE + THE COMMITMENT
Mariah also does courses. Her thing is webinars and creating ecourses and she knows the deal. I know you won't be disappointment if you have a look at her.
I think I bought into Heathers branding before I even knew what she did. I am dying to join her group coaching program so I am waiting patiently to get into the next round. Looking at her branding and reading her posts on branding made me reconsider my branding (so I'm in the middle of reevaluating mine).
The thing that refreshes me most about her is her approach to business. I was reading her about me page and I was thinking ‘YES YES YES ME TOO' and I just knew that I had to work with her. I can't really say much more because I haven't attended any of her conferences as I am on the wrong side of the river and I have to wait to join her next coaching program which is her main service. Once I join (and I am destined to get in there) I should be able to tell you more.
Erika has a WEALTH of knowledge. I actually came across her website via Pinterest. She had a content upgrade giving 101 popular blog titles to use. I am normally used to talking to people one to one. This is what I have been doing for years so writing online has been something I may have been good at in the past but things have changed quite a bit. I realised that the things I used to do in the past don't quite work anymore.
I think with Erika's brand, what gets me the most is the fact that she is self taught and she has done an amazing job. She did an open letter which I almost cried alongside reading because it was so heartfelt and I could totally relate to some of the things she had mentioned in her open letter. She is a simple person who had a dream to support her family and I am sure she has also suported thousands of women with her blog along the way.
I get the feeling that she doesn't realise how amazing her content is so if would do me a favour and go onto her site and see for yourself how brilliant she is and then tell her!
She offers free courses and has a ebook on customer services which I think is crucial for any business. I have worked in customer services for many years and it has always been highlighted as one of my strengths so I have not bought the ebook. The reviews on the ebook are amazing so I am sure it will not disappoint.
She has many helpful posts on blogging and graphic design also.
From the moment I heard her webinar during Master Your Market Summit, I started following her on twitter for some time and I knew I wanted to work with her. I keep falling asleep at every attempt to stay up for her #createlounge twitter chat as I am a few hours ahead of her hometown.
She gets the whole community spirit thing. What can't you achieve without a community? I know it's such a simple thing but many online businesses do not care about engaging with the potential community they have and I didn't want to be one of them.
It's just amazing to see the community she has brought together and to see many people widening their network because of her twitter chat. It leaves me feeling like I want to be a part of that. I don't want to miss out.
As well as her very active twitter chat, she's got a really cool blog and she also offers a 1:1 package if you want her all to yourself! lol
I have always thought that Maya is making waves. This chic is everywhere but she's just not making noise, she's talking sense. She oozes the confidence that I think everyone should have if they are running such a client orientated business. She's not afraid to sugarcoat the truth and thats's what I love most about her. I get so much pleasure from reading her tweets.
After seeing her pull off the Master Your Market Summit, I got a true vision of how powerful Maya actually is. To pull off such a huge event by herself was just astonishing and the information that was relayed during the event was outstanding and I still taking using lessons that I learnt over the three days today.
She has several courses that cover branding and content creation that from what I hear are simply amazing.
I love Maya!
I love Kaitlyn's blog because she provided comprehensive information on branding and have you seen her branding across all platforms? I love her! To be honest, I have not been following her for long but she's another example of how consistent branding should be done.
She offers constructive blog posts on how to achieve great branding or she offers to do it for you as part of her packages. I have taken information away from all her blog posts and I am using that to help relaunch my brand also.
Going by her post comments, social media and portfolio, I would definitely consider Kaitlyn to help with your branding as she clearly lives and breaths it.
Lauren has one of the most refreshing websites I have ever seen. I mean you can never go to her website and be lost/confused. You always know what you are looking at and it's just so neat. if I want advice about visuals, Lauren's website is the first one I think about. I guess this is the perks of being a graphic designer.
It's obvious she's gifted in her trade and has a lot of useful information to share with the rest of the world. She also has business tips to share to help take your online business to the next level. The great thing about having so many small business owners at arms reach is that when there is a product/service I need, I can support them rather than a big organisation.
Lauren has a course on using visual marketing which is on my to do list but I do have 3 other courses I need to finish up before I commit to another one. She also has a subscription based library full of worksheets, templates and files for you use for your business at a low monthly rate.
I almost forgot to mention, she uses Squarespace. I say that because more and more people are looking to use Squarespace but don't know how to get started when it comes to making it their own! Lauren has tutorials and I know she will tell you what you need to know.
Regina is FIERCE! She's been in the game for a really long time and definitely one of the people I recognise as one of the original infopreneurs. Her focus is all about monetising your platform and she does a really good job doing it with her in depth blog posts. Her brand has been consistent on all platforms and not only that but she just consistently delivers. You know when some people start a business and then they run out of fresh content and all the new content is just bleugh? I can't say I have experienced that with Regina.
Her resume of published work is also incredible. She doesn't just talk the talk but she's got some serious experience behind her. She also has a publication called theindependant.press which is a blogging blueprint for bloggers. A magazine with no ads! Who doesn't love that? The funny thing is, it also features most of the people I have included in here already.
Sarah is one badass babe. Her attitude is everything. When I get her emails, she makes it sound like we are friends making me look forward to her emails. They are simply enjoyable. My main goal for my second business was not to necessarily ‘blog'. It was to share the experiences I encountered when I started a business and to help others who are where I was 4 years ago. Sarah made me realise how important it actually was and how to do it right. She breaks down what you need to do and it obviously works because she's sharing with you what she did.
Sarah also has a few books and courses as well as consulting services. I have heard so many good things about her ‘Badass Blog Planner' and it is on my to purchase list.
If you want someone who is going to be real, offer no B.S. and offer clear cut advice and training on blogging and social media. Sarah is definitely your chic. She also also a cool resource library which gave me the idea to make my own as it does actually help when you are able to offer your readers the exact tools that you were able to use.
This multitalented chic has so much to offer. Definitely check out what she can do for you.
WHICH #BOSSBABES DO YOU RECOMMEND I CHECK OUT? I'D LOVE TO HEAR WHO YOU ADMIRE
